this just makes me laugh, because this is what we did when we were rebuilding our house and living in the basement with an unfinished and unlivable house above us.  We were kind of just scraping by at that point, and there wasn’t much room left in the basement when you’ve got a family of 4 living down there, so we made a tree out of lights on the wall.  Oh memories…
