I bought myself a Kindle for xmas and love it. I’m still figuring it all out though, but I’d get the 3G one.
if I have wireless at home though, would I need the 3G? I could dowload a bunch of books at home and then be set to go, right? Or is 3G handy for other things besides books?

If you want long battery life, definitely get an e-ink device (Nook or Kindle, but not NookColor). NookColor is nice because it’s a multipurpose device, but battery life is only about 8 hours.

but my husband has a droid and the battery life SUCKS on it if you’re doing much of anything other than texting. I’d like the e-reader for it’s ability to stay on for a 15 hour flight if i want to read the whole time

I got my mom a Nook-she loves it. It’s nice because you can check out books from your public library, which the Kindle doesn’t allow.

i’m considering getting an e-reader as I have a long trip coming up, and I don’t want to pack a bajillion books. Anyone have any experience with these, or reasons I should get one vs the other? i think my burt’s bees lip balm wrecked my lips. I’ve been using vaseline lip therapy for about a month while i got over some crazy chapping. I used my burt’s bees stuff last night and today my lips are all tight and kind of peely. Definitely not normal.
